I Got Some New Fish!

Most of my fish had died (not all at once, but over time). All I had left was one Blood-Fin Tetra and one Blue Long-Fin Danio. :(

Then on June 9, 2005 I got two new fish. They were Leopard Danios. They were very pretty fish with iridescent colors and leopard spots.

Several days after that, I had to give all my fish to some one else, because we were moving and wouldn't have room for a five gallon aquarium.

At least they went to a good home. The person I gave them to is an experienced fish keeper.

I Got a Pretty Betta Splendens (Siamese Fighting Fish)

I got a Betta.

There isn't room for my five gallon aquarium in the fifth wheel we are living in right now, so I am keeping him in a little 1/2 gallon fish bowl. I put some colored gravel in the bottom and a plastic plant in for him to play with. I named him Benny Splendid.

Benny has a purple head, a turquoise body and dorsal fin, and the rest of his fins are red. I feed him pellets, flakes, and plankton. I also feed him ants!

Benny really likes the plastic plant. He has been swiming around it and hiding behind it a lot!

Benny starting making a bubble nest a few days ago. He's also been acting pretty weird. Actually it's not really weird for a male Betta. Besides putting lots of bubbles on top of the water, he also gets very aggressive when ever anything colorfull (especially blue or green) comes near his bowl! He displays his gill covers and raises his fins to make himself look as BIG & Scary as possible when he's being aggressive!
