Roosters and Guineas
When I moved the roosters to their new yard, 2 of the roosters had not matured enough to be sure they were roosters. But the lead guinea could tell! He was chasing them around and pecking them - a lot! I found one of the roosters that he had been chasing hiding in the corner of the chicken house. I let the chickens out of their yard to forage during the day. When they all came in at night, one of the immature roosters didn't want to come in, because he would be pecked by the guinea.
A few days later the lead guinea picked a fight with Collar! Collar had his hackle feathers puffed up and he had his wings spread out. But he was not like that for very long! After awhile the guinea started to chase Collar around and to peck him! I went out to make sure Collar was okay & I found him hiding in the corner of the chicken house with the guinea still pecking him.
I had named the lead guinea "Sweety Keety", because I had tried to tame him & he was the friendliest of the guineas. But he isn't sweet any more! I ended up having to give him away to keep him from bullying Collar.
